EDD is an independent study course where students can find a problem in their every day lives, and come up with a solution to that problem.  The students research, design, and maybe even publish their ideas.

Our Problem:
Have you ever taken a look at the powerstrip near your desktop computer at home?  Because chances are that its full of plugs with no available outlets.  This is most likely due to bulky AC adapters taking up two or more outlet spaces when they should only take up one.  In the picture below, the powerstrip has six outlets, but only two are available after the adapter is pluged in.  One example of a problem could be when you want to transfer pictures from your digital camera to your computer and you need to plug your camera in at the same time.  AC adapters are used to transfer AC power to DC power for electronics such as printers, cell phones, monitors, modems, and computers.
